About Yvette
Yvette S. M. Debeau has a passion for writing and has won numerous awards during her education and beyond. She won 9 Journalism awards while the Newsletter Editor and Publisher for the Redwood Unit of the Back Country Horseman of California. She is also the former Planetarium Sky Studies Instructor for College of the Redwoods. An avid horse lover and owner, wife and mother of two grown sons, and a grandmother. She lives with her husband and four horses in the small suburb town of Carlotta, California.
Yvette states, “My passion and fascination for writing stemmed from early childhood. I was most content when putting pen to paper, often turning my work into oral presentations, which led me to take a number of Public Speaking classes both in High School and College. We all have childhood dreams. Some dreams fade away, but others never fade. Instead, they lie sleeping within waiting to be awakened. And then one day you realize that passion is still there and suddenly you feel the need to make that dream a reality.” In November 2016 she realized her lifelong dream when she published her first book “Finding Favor and the Secret of Rainbow Moor”, and has been on the journey of a lifetime ever since.
Yvette S.M. Debeau was born in the city of Oakland, California, she has a fraternal twin sister and one older brother and one younger sister. At the age of eight her mother met and remarried a wonderful, caring man who promptly decided he was not going to raise “his” kids in the city and moved the family to the quaint country town of Scotia, California. Scotia was at that time the last company owned town in the United States.
Debeau owns a small ranch with her husband. There is always something to do on the ranch making it hard at times to juggle time between writing and caring for the ranch and animals that need looking after. “I am very hands on and oversee all functions of the ranch. I’ll be sharing some of that with you as well. What better way to get to know the total me. Working hard often gives me inspiration to write and keeps me balanced. It is also important to me to stay involved in my local community. I am an Ambassador for the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce and spend a great deal of time helping with community events. I love landscaping and construction. In 2017 I designed and together with my husband, built my own barn.” The first words out of most people that see it is, “I could live in here!” It is complete with a sitting room, refrigerator and soon to be complete bathroom
